For the third season in a row, a professional male athlete has been named the champion of ABC’s Dancing With the Stars.

Brazilian race-car driver and two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Helio Castroneves beat out Spice Girl Melanie Brown and Marie Osmond (who was eliminated 15 minutes into the show) for the prized mirror ball trophy Tuesday. It was the second consecutive win for his partner, Julianne Hough, who won last season’s show with speed skater Apolo Anton Ohno.

As confetti fell from the ceiling, a disappointed Brown ran over to the winners and proclaimed, “Well done!”

Though Brown and her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy entered Tuesday night’s final round of competition in first place (by one point) and were the highest scoring couple of the season, they failed to rack up enough of the audience vote to secure the title.

However, they did score a perfect 30 from the judges after performing their favorite routine of the entire season, the mambo, one final time Tuesday.

Castroneves and Hough opted to revisit their quick step, which also earned them perfect marks. But in the end, it was the viewer votes that allowed them to take home the mirror ball trophy.

“It will look so good between my two Indy 500 trophies,” he told the Associated Press.
